My question is if there is any law that requires the married couPle of a minor to get evaluated by a doctor/ Psychologist etc. if the minors feels she is in danger? I really think there is something seriously wrong with my Parents. My dad just finished strangling me and my mom just stood there. I was staring her right in the eyes waiting for her to helP me but she didn't. She didn't do anything when my dad said he didn't care if he had to go back to jail to do twenty more years he will **** me uP if I yell at my mom again. I honestly do not feel safe and I know for a FACT that he will attack me again but I don't feel like calling the authorites will helP at all. They all think I'm crazy because I ran away before. My dad doesn't threaten to kill me as much anymore though. I'm almost 16 btw

Update:@ Lila : Thanks but he's only ever been to jail once for about 2years because of a drug related matter. It was a long time ago and he can argue that he was trying to make money for his family >.< I am so screwed.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I know you are serious. Your dad is lying in his anger that he wouldn't mind going to jail again. I don't know how anybody can think that you are lying because obviously he is the reason you ran away. Your father isn't the only one with problems your mother also. There are numbers that you can call that are staffed by professionals who can help you with support and advice. One is 1-800-273-TALK and 1-800-4ACHILD, that number is for teens also. Please call and get some expert advice. I wish that I could help you more. With your dad's prison record he is a Felon and you do have the option of calling the police. Also if you don't, and I certainly understand, want to call the police go straight to a teacher you trust or your school counselor. Be certain that whomever you talk to knows that he has a long prison record and is a Felon. Do you have grandparents who can help you? There will be help please call one or both of the numbers above.
Okay seriously ide get out of the house and CALL THE POLICE! Or see if you could live with a family member and there is no law that says that. Maybe you could have someone else call the police like a family member or something.
