I have a abscess gum from an impacted tooth (I had it extracted 3 weeks ago). The abscess itself was cleaned out 5 days ago when I came in for a deep cleaning but it is inflamed again with pus. Should I go back? My hygienist that cleaned it had me schedule a checkup a month from now to check the pocket but the Pain is severe (but can be controlled with OTC meds). She said if it didn’t improve in a month she’d put antibiotics directly inside the pocket. Not sure if it would be smart to wait a whole month for this since it looks like it’s back already. What do you suggest?
