with a force of 35 N directed at an angle of
25 degrees downward from the horizontal.

First you have to find the horizontal component of the force, because it is only the horizontal component that is doing any work (you are moving the cart horizontally, not up or down).
So we do....
Fx=Fcos(theta)
Fx=(35)(cos25)
Fx=31.7N
Then to find energy we do W=Fd
W=31.7(50.9)
W=1613.5
W=1600 J
I like to round. Anyways, it's about 1600 Joules of energy.
first you need the horizontal component of F;
Fx=F cos 25=34.69 N
then work=force*displacement
W=34.69*50.9=1 765.721 J
