A religious gent recently said it’s obvious God came from another universe. Is it obvious? Is it biblical? Is it a cult classic? ?
Update:
Thank you fine factual answers. I used to think of this person as a wise teacher, a spiritual yoda. A logical thinker. But it turns out I was WAY off. Maybe a million light years off........
Does God need to be Biblical? I know plenty of folk who believe in some form of God without reference to any holy book.
And if they want him/her/it to come from another universe, then why not? They've posited that a supreme being exists, that's wild enough that you can surely throw parent universes in for free! No evidence for the existence of either so what the hell!
What if "God" is an organisation of particle physicists not unlike "CERN" Who, in some higher order universe, on a Planet not that different from ours ran a particle accelerator experiment and created this universe we now exist in?
Quantum physics seems to suggest that if you can create a high enough energy state it could be possible to do this.
The thing is, they almost certainly wouldn't even know they did it. This universe would be totally sealed off from theirs at the instant of its' creation.
They were mere mortals like us, not divine beings. And, since they're now long gone and sealed away, we can't ever communicate with them, let alone worship them. Yet they would still be "The Creator". They would still earn the name of God, even if it's a fairly unexciting one.
We might have already become Gods ourselves because of our particle physicists experiments. Where's our share of the worship from our creations!?
For all I know (or even care), it might be particle accelerators all the way down into infinity. Or it could be some cycle or process stranger than anything our puny little brains can conceive of. I'd definitely lean towards the latter.
When someone starts off by saying "It's obvious that..." in an academic setting they most likely have no idea what they are talking about. And saying "It's obvious God..." implies that God exists, when there is no evidence for this.
It's a cult classic. The LDS (Mormons) believe that God was once a man from the planet "KOLOB." (you can google it). It is not Biblical, nor is the angel that visited the founder of the LDS, Joseph Smith. The Bible mentions no angel named "Moroni." The LDS have a history of false prophecies. The cults can't seem to reconcile Biblical truth with human logic, so they change the truth into a lie. Romans 1:21-23.
I just recently learned that the Mormon planet or star Kolob is supposed to be in the center of the Milky Way. So wherever God came from, some people think He lives in the center of our galaxy.

No ; I came from here . See my answers for evidence .
Yes it is written in The Hebrew Bible and the KJV-The Old Testament.
God and His Divine Beings land a spacecraft on Earth. They use advanced technology that ancient man thought was magical, divine and or supernatural.
God is omnipresent and a person can better comprehend this mystery by reciting the rosary every day with care and sincerity.
Well, he got one thing right ... God does not come from this universe.
However, it is wrong to say that God came from another universe.
Rather, God is transcendent of this universe (and all other temporality).
He is not wrong by any distance; but by a completely different category
If there is another universe, God must have created it. In other words, He did not come from it. It came from Him.
It is obvious to him alone.

It's another gap for their stupid creature to hide in.
The thing is, once we start going into other realities, they can claim literally anything, and it'll probably exist, somewhere in the multiverse.
I guess then they'd be right, lol. Maybe getting them to accept that This reality has no deity would be easier if we just let them pretend.
