A question in writing in iambic pentameter…?
The word I am currently looking at is “fire”. When writing in iambic pentameter would you use this word as “da-Dum” ,
fi-ER. If not, could you explain to me please as to why?

No, the stress would be on the "fi" (DA-dum). Do you really say fi-ER? FI-er. It says so in the dictionary as well. If you pronounce it "fi-ER," it sounds like you mean "one who fies..." and that doesn't really make sense. Try thinking about the lyrics to Light My Fire:
"you KNOW that IT would BE unTRUE, you KNOW that I would BE a LIar, IF i was to SAY to YOU, COME on BAby LIGHT my FIre. COME on BAby LIGHT my FIre..."
