A fire hose ejects a stream of water at an angle of 35.6 ° above the horizontal. The water leaves the nozzle with a speed of 23.6 m/s. Assuming that the water behaves like a projectile, how far from a building should the fire hose be located to hit the highest possible fire?

Maximum height would be at an angle of 90º
If you mean the angle is fixed at 35.6°, then the max height would be at 1/2 the range, which is
range of object projected at an angle θ
R = (V²/g)sin(2θ), V is initial velocity in m/s
g is the acceleration of gravity 9.8 m/s²
so put a 1/2 in
d = (1/2)(V²/g)sin(2θ)
you can do the rest.
