I'm wanting to make a chocolate fudge recipe I found online. It contains 1x 7 ounce jar Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme. However, in my country we don't have jars of marshmallow creme, so I was going to melt some marshmallows instead.
Problem: I have to translate the 7 ounces into metric. That's easy enough with an online converter, but I don't know if it's 7 ounces by weight (in which case I change it to grams) or 7 ounces by volume (in which case it's just less than a cup).
American recipes confuse me. If we have imperial measurements in our books, we would have 7 oz for weight and 7 fl. oz for volume.
Can anyone tell me which it is in this case?
Thank you.

American recipes confuse Americans too when it comes to those types of measurements.
It refers to weight. I have a jar and it says 7 oz (198 g) on the label.
A good way to find out is to simply Google for the product and find a good image of it, usually beside our screwy measurement system is something that the rest of the world will understand.
That is weight, of course!
