2x+4-x-1=8
x+3=8
x=5
At least, I think I did it right. . .
2(x + 2) â (x + 1) = 8
2x+4-x-1=8 combine like terms
X+3=8 subtract 3 from both sides
X=5
OK step 1 distribute.
2x +4-x-1=8
Step to Combine like terms
so you end up with
1x+3=8
now subtract 3 on both sides and you get
There are really 5 steps but I only put the ones you needed
