If ∆ABC is translated 6 units to the left and 4 units up to form ∆XYZ, what are the coordinates of the vertices of ∆XYZ?
A. X(-3,4), Y(-1,-2), and Z(2,2)
B. X(-3,12), Y(-1,6), and Z(2,10)
C. X(9,12), Y(11,6), and Z(14,10)
D. X(9,4), Y(11,-2), and Z(14,2)

By translating coordinate A (3,8) in that way, a location of (-3,12) is obtained. Only answer (B) gives that location for X. The other coordinates also check.
Add -6 to all the x-coordinates, and add 4 to all the y-coordinates, and you get the answer to be B.
For each point, subtract six to each of the x values and add four to each y value
Ex:
A. X(-3,4) subtract six from -3 and add four to 4
So the new point would be X(-9,8)
Hope this helps! :)
