I’m not on here to get diagnosed but I want to share my thoughts. I think I’m depressed. I have literally no motivation to do anything with my life. I start high school on Monday, and I’m absolutely dreading it. I always think about the future and how much I hate the thought of going to college, getting a job, etc. I have no clue what I want to do when I get to that age either. I would never kill myself because I’m scared of the pain but it crosses my mind when I think of the future how much better it would be if I wasn’t alive. I dont want to tell my parents about this because I hate talking to them about stuff like that. How can I get myself interested in life?

I used to think that way to too. I was too lazy that I hated the idea of going to school to get a good job, to have a better life in the future, but still, I obeyed my parents. What can I do? I have to follow them.. So I attended highschool and you know what, that's when the best days of life started. I met a lot of friends! ^_^
Tbh, I wasn't really that lazy at all, I only hated the idea of attending highschool because I thought that no one will befriend me so I convinced myself that I hate school but then I was wrong 'cause all of us thought the same. lol
It is the pressure that you feel that makes you hate school & life. Don't let it beat you. If you do, you might miss a lot good opportunities. I wish you happiness & God bless you! ❤

Me too but I'm 3 times your age. Keep fighting
We are so glad that you are reaching out for help. It sounds like you are really struggling and need some support. Going back to school can be a very stressful/depressing time. We are concerned that you are feeling suicidal but so glad that you don't plan to act on these feelings. Know that suicide is never the answer, no matter what problems/feelings you are struggling with. We can't stress enough how valuable your life is.
It's so important that you reach out for support from a trusted adult such as a parent, school counselor, teacher, coach, or minister. We would suggest getting evaluated by your medical doctor or a mental health professional, and getting involved in counseling. Please contact 911 if you ever need immediate assistance. It may help you to talk to a counselor at a hotline. Know that there is help out there for you and you are not alone. Stay strong!

well, sir, with your kind permission, I guess you're young enough to be my son- to begin with....
which means - you're at the utmost age of growing and flourishing in every way-on one hand - and a very difficult age, too, on the other hand.
and it sounds to me you're probably depressed deeply and severely- probably enough to need/ urgently need the professional help of a psychiatrist or so, in real life- someone skilled in treating people of your age, with no further delay....
please, be so kind to immediately let your parents and , also, your Family Doctor there exactly know what you're going through, as you told us here...ask for and timely get the help you need....
If you do not want to talk to your parents about this you can always make an appointment to see your school counselor and show them what you have written here and ask them what assistance they can provide.
Another option would be to have your parents schedule an appointment with your family doctor. When the doctor asks what brings you in today show them what you have written here. Use that as a basis for having a frank discussion on how you are doing. They can do a full physical and neurological workup to see if you have a medical condition that needs to be addressed. They can also check if anything you are taking or doing may be causing or contributing to your issue. They can refer you to a mental health professional who can evaluate your mental state. Be sure to show them what you have written here also. Once a diagnosis has been made, treatment options can be discussed.
Normal adolescent mood episodes are hard to get through, but hang on. They do get better eventually.
Also, talking to the counselor at school is your best next step.
Buddy I'm 25 and when I was your age, I thought the exact same thing. Trust me, you need to relax! I got down that path from the age of 14 and it continued all the way to my 4th year of college. While everyone was partying, making friends, prom, accomplishing stuff, I got such bad anxiety that I basically lived my life through tv and movies. By the time I was 22 when I wanted to change myself I realized it was too late to do a lot. I was socially, academically, as well as physically behind. See a psychologist if you need to. But please understand that high school and college have the potential of being the greatest years of your life. If not hs, definitely college. Do everything get a high gpa, be social, pursue a sport you like, talk to that cute girl you like in class ;). Just chill and be busy. Don't be like me and waste it all and now you're 25 and can't do anything and have to be an adult without ever having any fun and finding myself. See a shrink now so you don't waste it!
you need to tell your parents so they can get you help, you could need pills for your depression so you would need to see a psychiatrist about it
