With Disney’s acquisition of Fox and Marvel, what does that mean for Universal’s production of Marvel movies? And what about the theme parks?
Just been thinking about the question above. With the theme parks I’m wondering how this purchase will affect both theme parks with Universal’s Marvel rides
when any and all legal agreements have been completed, I would say Universal will be looking for a new set of superheroes, if they do not want to pay their main competitor continuing licensing fees for the current characters they are using. It's all about the licensing and the movies. Look for Universal to rename or find new superheroes. Movie production will be by Disney now, and not Universal.
Those theme parks are a big money maker so I'm sure they worked something out in the deal where they get to keep running the theme parks and adding new attractions. Sometimes when they make those deals the companies stay separate but the profits all roll back to the owner.
