I thought them manx people all lived in ditches, Can you put a value on a ditch? per yard maybe. £50 seems a bit steep. That would include all the ditches on the island, AND in Ireland. But the idea of harnessing the power of a Hurricane for pest control is a good one.
For Hurricane Irma to hit the Isle of Man, it would have to do a 180, recross the Atlantic Ocean, go north, go around Spain, by past France, then squeeze through the English Channel. It would also mean going into cooler water, which is the opposite of what a hurricane need to thrive. I think you would need a different kind of natural disaster if you want to devastate the Isle of Man
Concerning whether Hurricane Irma will hit the Isle of Man;
Yahoo! Weather forum is the last place anyone should go to find out where Hurricane Irma will go. Complete waste of time.
Best advice: keep tabs on the hurricane's progress by following reports from the National Hurricane Center at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ and avoid lame Internet weather forums populated by kooks trafficing in knownothingism.

If Hurricane Irma hit the Isle of Man, it would probably clear up more rubbish than it would create.

Whatever a cyclone did to the Isle of Man could ONLY improve it. The inhabitants of Man should pay.
Damage there could never amount to anything like £50 more like 50p.

Irma will do no damage that far away.
