Be afraid of other people's dogs. Just a week ago a pit bull killed a 5 year old. Don't take chances. But if you want to raise one from a baby, or know someone you really trust who raised theirs from a baby, then go ahead. This is true of most big dogs, and yes, especially pit bulls.
Best to be safe than sorry eh? Keep your distance from this breed and stay on the safe side. I personally would not want a PB within 50 yards of me. Thank goodness they are banned in the UK.
Sacred? SCARED is the word you are looking for. You should be wary. They account for over 70% of deaths by dog attack. So WHY put yourself close to one?
Stop watching videos online about the negative side to a particular breed. Pit bulls have a bad reputation not because of their natural temperament, but because of nasty people who abuse them into being dangerous and aggressive. There are lots of videos about how great pits are, they are awesome family dogs and total goofballs.
Pitbulls are like any other dog if raised the right way. It's that people use them to fight that gives them a bad name. But they can be very protective of their owner.
every pitt bull ive ever personally met is a sweetie pie
@Jojo It depends on who trained them. They don't just randomly turn from sweet dog to vicious killing machine at the drop of a hat. They can be trained to be vicious guard dogs (just as pretty much any dog can), but when a PB attacks its in the news every time cause its jaws locked and it killed or almost killed somebody. You get attacked by a Doberman or a German Shepard, much higher chance you escape with minor injuries than a PB attack.

sacred or scared?
90% to 99% of the videos on the Internet is crap.
I cannot understand how young people are so afraid of *everything* -- big dogs, un-refrigerated food, dirt, driving, possibility being hurt....

Well, the fact some homeowner insurances won't cover you if you own one is a red flag something is wrong with them.
