"Why don’t things that happened in the Bible happen now?"
We're still preaching, We're still recieving power by the Holy spirit to remain strong and make it through the bad times. We still have God's word and his word is never outdated, he's always speaking to us, please.
If the process of evolution required nothing to start it up, (energy and matter created nothing by itself, it's been tested please.) it had no guide, no supernatural power and no help whatsoever, it's a miracle please. Even saying it's not, is a miracle. Why is there no life other planets please?
Because people take good records of the real events today. You see, the accounts of biblical events that came down to us are summaries, commentaries, and interpretations of events that happened hundreds of years before the author's time. Perhaps he was working from sources of the true events and added the reasons why he thinks they happened the way they did by saying God did this and did that. It's actually very similar to how the Iliad was written. Perhaps the story of the characters really happened to some extent, but all the divine intervention was the editor's interpretation.
That is the most simple question of all to answer:
Today almost everyone carries a video recording device so no one can make up stories about what happened and get people to believe it. Today, requires proof.
Did you ever notice how the miracles got smaller and subtler as time passed? That is, the more people there were that could call bs on someone's story, the less often those stories happened. Strangely coincidental, yes?
Of course, you point that out and somebody will undoubtedly start quoting the verse about how people are looking for the Signs of Jonas, which is a hint that the End Times are near, so you need to stop questioning and start praying, because Jesus is a'comin' and he ain't happy!
Never mind that this contradicts 2 things that Jesus directly said: 1) You'd know prophets by their fruits and 2) People would be able to work bigger and better miracles than he did (and he brought people back to life!).

YHVH .........is quite patient......things will happen when they are supposed to.......
Does God tarry? No, waiting for all to come to Him, who is coming. Things will happen at the appointed time.

I know right!??
It's enough to make you think it's all made up
They DO still happen in our time .. just, no-one was obligated to report to you about it.
For that matter .. why haven't you been on the world media to advise of your "authority"?

Which ones?
Crucifixions in public, holy men preaching on every street corner, illiteracy, poor hygiene, lack of basic scientific knowledge, or miracles?
The answer to all of the above being, human progress....
Wait... The only one that's even absurd is miracles. But that's because they didn't happen then either....
Uh oh.. I'm in a circle!
Because they are hiding.
