Why don’t people say hi back to me?
When I am passing someone at work, in a building, or on the street, I will say hi to someone when they walk past me and they won’t say hi back!!! They will purposely ignore me. I know they heard me and they aren’t purposely saying hi back because they don’t have headphones on or anything and they looked at me when I said hi to them and I was loud, clear, and made eye contact when I said hi and people never said hi back! Why? Are people in their own little world or something?!! Are they scared to say hi or something?! I mean really!

Okay, not you got me wondering with ALL these posts of yours. You complain that people don't smile at you, don't say 'thank you', don't say hello, that you creep people out..........
I'm thinking if these things are always happening to you that it is possibly YOU and not the other person that has the problem.
No, they are just very rude people. As long as you aren't randomly saying hi to strangers in the street, because they are probably to scared or something.
In a corporate environment saying "hi" once per day is enough. If you're greeting people each and every time you see them, maybe that's the problem. Good luck.

don't listen to some of these answers. it's not rude or morally wrong or anything to not greet back someone who said hi or ignoring someone who wants to conversate or etc, they might be shy, or don't want to talk, or very tired and don't want to talk becauuse it can take away your energy and breathe. i've had a few personal experiences with cashiers, but im not a cashier since im too young. sometimes they say hi and i just put my stuff on the counter and pay for it with the money my mom gave to me. i'm REALLY shy, so don't take it as an insult, some people are like that.
