I mean serious its way more simple and more accurate.
Even a total moron could get it in just one day.
So why is the US the only western country (2 african hell holes use it too ;) that teaches a totally outdated and especially more difficult system?
I mean serious the hint of the metric system is that you allWays have to multiply it with 10.
It´s not rocket science
1mm*10= 1cm*10= 1dm*10 = 1meter
Update:Yeah i get it but just for example a galleon is 3.78541178 litres
While in fact one litre= 2 pounds (in europe a litre is a litre ;=
So 1 litre of water weights 1 kg (2 pounds)
divided with 10 it means that 100dag=1 kg
Divided with 10 again it means that a kg has 1000 grams.
You can contine this to milli grams or even farter but the rule stays the same.
Nothing could be more accurate and especially EASY!

First, Americans hate change and the metric system is odd to look at if you don't know how it works (though it's arguably easier).
Second, it would cost money to change standards, signs and regulations that have been in place for years to metric, it would take very long as well.
Third, going back to the first point, in America, the government doesn't force things upon the people as much as other more socialized countries, so the metric system will have to wait.
In 1975 Congress passed a law to gradually convert the US to the metric system over 10 years but it never caught on and funding was eventually discontinued. The only way it ever caught on was with 2 liter soda bottles and prescription drugs measurements it seems
Eugh I totally agree. I hate to generalize about an entrie nation but Americans tend to like things to stay the way they are. Their government needs to give them a little tough love and just make it law to teach metric, no questions asked. Basically they're too lazy to change.
we would have switched back in the 70's if the NFL hadn't fought so hard for their yardlines
Too expensive to retool.
