war with Iraq under Saddam Hussein’s rule ?
Facts Killing file:
Approaching two million, including between 150,000 and 340,000 Iraqi and between 450,000 and 730,000 Iranian combatants killed during the Iran-Iraq War. An estimated 1,000 Kuwaiti nationals killed following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. No conclusive figures for the number of Iraqis killed during the Gulf War, with estimates varying from as few as 1,500 to as many as 200,000. Over 100,000 Kurds killed or "disappeared". No reliable figures for the number of Iraqi dissidents and Shia Muslims killed during Saddam's reign, though estimates put the figure between 60,000 and 150,000. (Mass graves discovered following the US occupation of Iraq in 2003 suggest that the total combined figure for Kurds, Shias and dissidents killed could be as high as 300,000). Approximately 500,000 Iraqi children dead because of international trade sanctions introduced following the Gulf War.

Update:You liberals know that if Obama was president at the time, the mainstream government controlled press would have given him credit.(we would never hear the end it would be non-stop).

We are also in Germany, Korea and Japan but that doesn't mean we're still fighting. Thats for all the Liberals that have no idea to what they are talking about and are too lazy to look up the facts and keep saying we're still in Iraq
We're still in Iraq, so it hasn't been 'won' yet.
World War II was won and the Marshal Plan started rolling in less time than Bush spent playing soldier in the desert.
A military victory against Saddam's army was never an issue, the post-invasion security and political stability was. Bush failed miserably in that department.
The stats that you listed about Saddam's death may be technically true, but you neglect to mention the following facts:
- The US backed Iraq through the Iran/Iraq war and up to Desert Shield, providing Saddam money and weapons.
- The trade sanctions were US imposed and a result of a poor exit strategy by GHWB.
- Dubya's invasion resulted in between 100,000 and 200,000 Iraqi deaths.
So of the 2 million Iraqi deaths you cite at the hands of this tyrant, George W. Bush and his father were directly or indirectly responsible for all of them the except the Kuwati deaths from the Gulf War.
You forgot his sons and their rape rooms, torturing just for entertainment, and feeding dissenters into wood chippers.
As far as - 500,000 Iraqi children dead because of international trade sanctions - First, I think that number is twisted to include nearly every death due to all causes. Second, I notice Saddam and his republican guard were fat and comfortable while children went hungry. Who's fault is that again?
The UN's Coffee Annan, his son, and many others were also making a killing off the "oil for food" program.
To answer, for the most part we don't have a 'press' any longer. We have political operatives disguised as news anchors and news paper editors.
All of what you listed is true.
BUT- it is not cause to invade a country that has not attacked us.
There are many, many countries in the world with leaders as bad a Saddam who have committed just as bad of atrocities.
The ONLY reason Bush cared about Iraq is oil.
The greatest war machine ever assembled in the world beats up on a small, inefficient, dictator who Only is interested in selling oil and killing jews and christians and others in his way. Bush admits that he went into Iraq to finish his dad's job.
We have not won the Iraq war, we have with drawn our forces only to let them kill themselves
Winning a war against a tin-pot state when you are the best armed nation in the world is nothing to crow about. The rest of the world was amazed it took the US so long even with the help of the Brits. Just remember you were whipped with tail behind your legs by the Vietnamese.
which bush are you referring to? H.W., just dubya, or the burning bush? History is recording events as such and will give credit where credit is due---and assign failure in the same manner. And boy george will suffer from the cold hard facts occurring during his term, no matter how much his faithful sheep try to rewrite history.
That would be anti-semitic and or anti-Israel which would be branded the same in the media. I would think that is why that is not talked about just like you cannot talk about Palestinians in a positive light without being shouted down.
Hussein was a modern day Hitler who had to be disposed of. End of story.
What, exactly, was accomplished again? We killed more people? That should hardly be thought of as a victory considering we have a much more capable military.
