.... pick up the best answer? I have the impression that most of the answered questions go into voting, which means that the asker can´t be bothered to choose an answer. Don´t you think this is at least indelicate towards the people that made an effort to help?
Also, we all know that "self-voting" is a well spread phenomenon in Yahoo answer. Wouldn´t the result be fairer if it was the asker to choose?
Update:I suppose everyone will expect ME to choose a best answer here, right?!
Don´t worry, I will!

There are definate "glinches" within the system
and, hopefully these are things that are being addressed by the folks at Yahoo--- But-- I might point out that the "asker's" picking of a best answer is within itself not the full answer here either --because -- you see-- there are those who have two or three accounts in here--- that ask a question with one account--answer it with another and then pick themselves as Best Answer -- and that is just dead wrong !!!
One thing for sure--- those of us who have earned our points the hard way--- by giving solid answers mostly from the heart---Know that we've earned them the right way and in an upright manner--- but --- to those who constantly look for the "cheats" in things-- none of that matters-- because to them-- they don't even see the integrity thing at all--- it doesn't even show up on their radar !!!!
This question has been asked a lot. Some people just ask questions to get the attention they could care less about the answers!!! Yes the asker should choose BA but most of the time it does not happen. Yes a lot of people do vote for themselves. A lot of people just click on the first answer no matter what the rest of the answers are just so they can get a quick 1 point and go on to the next. But also I have seen some of the answers that the asker has picked and there are a lot of good answers that were better and had a lot more info. So what is fair? Just answer the questions and know you might have helped someone no matter if your answer get chosen or not! My opinion!!!
No, There's Just A Backlog @ The Moment And Many More Users Starting With Answers so it Looks Like Theres Many More Undecided Questions But The Percentage of total Questions Asked Would Be Around The Same.
Look at the bottom of the page when in the answering questions home section & It Should Tell U how Many Questions in total are open now and do the same in the voting section an then you can work out the percentage.
some don't care, maybe some don't realize you will get 3 points for picking the best answer. i get tired of asking questions and only getting rude or insulting answers. so maybe some askers figure there is no reason to read through the insults. the self vote thing is wierd, but even i am guilty of doing it. mainly because some people lke to vote for a factually wrong answer. this place needs improvement. most of the best answers i have seen do not answer the question or are just agreeing with the asker.
No, because then we would be just leaving it up to the asker without the option of allowing the asker to also have the option of inviting the answerers to help choose an appropriate answer to his or her query...but good observation though! I have noticed the same thing happening in many of my best answers choosen by others.
Exactly, Yahoo should at least give the asker a few points for choosing a best answer, instead of having the community choose.
i think of many people don't be attentive to which you're meant to (or CAN) choose to your person suited answer. From most of the questions you spot, in many cases persons don’t hardship to study the regulations or make sure how issues artwork at right here. they only bounce in and initiate asking "stupid" questions and enable them to expire by potential of default. this is a shame, yet how are you able to somewhat "play the interest" in case you do no longer study the regulations first? yet this is one reason I belong to the Yahoo team TieBusters -- a team committed to balloting all those previous tiebreakers, to get them resolved. link to connect is on my YA profile web site if fascinated.
Yes, it would be more fair, but you can't FORCE someone to pick the Best Answer. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of people on here never bother to understand all the rules, so they don't even KNOW that you can and should pick your own Best Answers. Sad, but true!
I didn't think you were able to self vote. I have tried it and it wouldn't let me. And also for the record i pick best answers and vote for best answers. I do all that is required here.
your soo right the asker should choose the answer
