If he isn't fixed then he is spraying, get him fixed. If he is fixed then I suggest a second litter box, some cats are picky. It is highly suggested that you fix/spay/neuter your cats in case they escape the safety of home and attempt to procreate. No one wants kittens to die in the streets. This will help with the "peeing" which is his little guy cats way of saying to the girl I CAN MAKE BABIES and THIS IS MY SPACE! Some cats will still spray after being fixed, I would suggest spritzing the home, specifically where he urinates frequently and not near the litter box area, with either a citrus juice mixture like lemon or orange and water to deter him or a distilled white vinegar/water mixture. This removes the cats desire to claim the area as his. Last resort is a vet visit after and if the cat continues after being fixed. Good luck!
Male cats need to be neutered. They mark their territory by peeing on things. If they are neutered, they usually don't do it. However, in some cases, if your male cat has started marking territory, they might continue to do so even after they are neutered.

This might be a marking behavior or he could have a health issue. I’d start by taking him to the vet.
get him neutered. He's marking territory.

he's marking his territory, or he's stressed out. if you never got him fixed or waited too long to get him fixed, he's probably marking territory
get him fixed and make sure he doesn't have a health issue
make sure the litter box is always clean
get at least one more litter box
clean all areas where he peed and use Nature's Miracle
