I have a female jack Russell terrier who was spayed at 6 months. I got her spayed because she is pet quality and I know nothing about breeding. But while I was out walking her, a woman with a male toy poodle asked me to breed my jack Russell with him to make “Jackapoos” I said no she’s spayed and she said you shouldn’t have got her spayed your crazy, you’ve lost out on so much money. I’m not contributing to the designer fad. Just wondering why people get so mad when you say your dog is spayed?
Update:She also didn’t understand why i wasn’t showing her. And the whole concept of “pet quality”
Update 3:Also we asked our vet the appropriate time to get her spayed and he said 6 months as small dogs have their first season around 7 month. We didn’t want her to have any seasons around our other dog.

What can be said about retards that randomly crossbreed without screening for ilnesses, without second thought for animals Quality or consequences. That woman is a retard
• "Why did this person say I shouldn’t have spayed my dog?"
Geez, [Natasha]! As WE haven't met that person, and don't know ANYTHING about her except what you've typed, there is NO WAY we can KNOW why she did. You had your chance to ask her face-to-face why she said it. We don't.
Some likely guesses are that:
🤢1: The woman hopes to make money from stud fees.
🤢2: The woman wants to claim 1 or 2 pups from YOUR litter and sell them for ridiculous amounts to stupid people whose limited number of brain cells turn to mush when they see "cute", furry pups.
🤢3: She gets a "high" from duping ignorant newbies about how generous, high minded & knowledgeable she is.
🤢4: She is one of those obsessives who believes that EVERY creature should produce as many offspring as possible (did you ask her how many CHILDREN she had so far produced? Proof of one per year, starting when she reached the legal age for intercourse should have been DEMANDED of her! But my instincts from my decades as a school-teacher scream "No NO - neuter her as soon as she reaches 2 weeks older than when she has her first period!").
🤢5: My hunch is that she is a con-artist, preying on ignorant owners of bìtches, and ignorant puppy buyers.
🤯 But ONE thing I will agree with is that your bìtch should NOT have been neutered YET.
(And PLEASE don't use the prissy term "fixed". Being neutered does NOT remedy (aka "fix") anything. But it sure can result in lots of problems. First problem is that, without the synchronisation produced by the gonadal hormones, some parts of each joint stop early, and other parts keep growing for longer than genetics/Nature intended that they should. And a very high proportion of early-neutered pooches (especially bìtches) become incontinent at about ⅔rds of their life-span.
The CORRECT term is neutered. If you wish to be gender-specific: bìtches are spayed, dogs are castrated - although there are longer terms for either surgery.
Except when a careless owner lets a bìtch get mated at its 1st or 2nd "heat", NO pooch should be neutered until it has reached its maximum height. For Toy breeds that usually happens at about 11 months old. For "working"-size breeds such as German Shepherd Dogs and Labradors it should not be before 18-to-20 months old. For giant breeds such as Irish Wolfhounds the bones might not be solid enough before 3 years old.
Pet owners rarely realise that the gonads (ovaries or testicles) produce the hormones that signal the growth-plates in the long bones to "STOP adding length to the legs". As each joint (Hips, knees, ankles, toes. Shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers) consists of several growth plates, the joints WON'T fit smoothly if individual growth plates "decide" to stop growing early or to grow for longer than the bone it is meant to slide smoothly against. Arthritis and dysplasia are 2 names usually given to those problems.

"PEOPLE?" or just that ONE woman?
I don't neuter my bìtches unless they develop pyometritis.
I've had only one male neutered - his 3-years younger full-sister was in lust with him, and even had they not had the same sire & dam, he was bigger than I want my GSDs to be.
• "I agree with all of the answers. She also went on saying her poodle is a champion and that the “jackapoos” would have been champions. Lol"
Did you ask her for PROOF that he is a champion?
But more important: WHICH of these 16 answers will you choose to award the points to as "BEST / Favorite Answer"? (In the process getting a refund of 3 of the 5 points it cost you to ask this question.)
In your next question you stated about the "Welsh Collie":
"Those saying it’s a recognised breed. Yes it is in the USA but in the U.K. where I live and this person lives it’s not a recognised breed."
If it was going to be recognised, it would be by The KC (UK), whose "territory" includes Wales (where my father's mother's mother & father came from in the 1800s).
But the Welsh Collie is NOT listed by The KC, nor by the USA's AKC (the USA has dozens of pseudo kcs & registries catering to the con-artists & puppy millers, but only the AKC is accepted by the rest of the world), nor by the FCI that is THE international authority on dogs.
The Welsh Collie is simply a variant or strain of Collies, not a stabilised registerable BREED. Whereas the 2 Welsh Corgi breeds ARE stabilised
👽🤯👿UPDATE👿🤯👽 for [Natasha]:
★1: Your vet is either old fashioned & not keeping up with research into neutering, or just prefers to neuter when there is less cutting & stitching to do, and knowing that each pup he/she neuters while it is immature is also certain to come back a few years later for follow-surgery or medication or both. If you couldnt SEPARATE the dog from'the *****, you should NOT have got her - OR you should have had HIM neutered.Presumably he was at least 11 months old when you got her - ideally,a GSD shoiud be at least 18-to-22months old before neutering.
★2: There is no word "german". A German shepherd is a German man or boy who looks after sheep. The dog that usually does most of his work has a German BREED-name that translates as German Shepherd Dog.
★3: A 2 years old Terrier (life expectancy 13-16 years) neutered at 6 months remains at risk to incontinence - especially from about 10 to 11 years old - NOT while still in its youth. Read especially the final sentence in: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11787155
★4: Learn that Greataunt Victoria Yahoo is an ignorant prude. She turns the proper spelling of bìtch into *****. Ditto several other perfectly good words. Learn the words she mucks up, and find other ways of spelling them without making them hard to decipher.
★5: When you are the Asker, RESIST using [Comment]. The proper way - if you want EVERYONE to know something - is to use [Edit] then [Add Update].
King Les The Lofty - first pup in 1950, GSD trainer & breeder as of Easter 1968
Because he has no respect for somebody who cares enough to take care of their dog. You are doing good so keep on
Whenever a stranger comments on something that isn't any of their business, you can reply with "why on earth would anything I do concern you?" and walk away. The woman was not only ignorant, she was rude.
Some people only see dollars signs. You did the right thing - your dog was pet quality and you didn't know enough about breeding. But you didn't have to justify your answer. This lady was in the wrong on so many levels!
Because they are complete idiots. Greedy, lying, scamming, screwing idiots.
Apparently they think a beloved pet should be abused and used as a puppy factory instead of getting a job themselves. Spaying is the right thing to do as there are not enough good homes for all our 4 legged friends.
She told you her opinion and you just typed it out.
?????
That lady is an idiot and only sees dollar signs, but unfortunately, there are people like that who have dogs, and especially seen with those that have smaller breeds. That's the new thing now with breeders, making designer and interesting breeds and selling them for profit. It's a disgusting thing to do, in my opinion.
You did right. Ignore her and others like her. Breeding should be done by responsible people who know what they are doing, and sadly, not many do, again, especially with small breeds.
That woman is a selfish moron.
