If you were watching C-SPAN in the week that the Berlin Wall actually did come down, you would know that the words "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this Wall!" were NOT said before the Berlin Wall came down, but almost one week AFTER. It took a disgraced former President Richard Nixon to go on C-SPAN and BAWL OUT the Reagan/Bush administration for IGNORING such a historic event before the speechwriters for an Alzheimer's-afflicted Ronald Reagan finally wrote that speech. Ronald Reagan had nothing to do with the Wall coming down, either---although that's not the tale told by the propaganda firm hired by the RNC, Hill & Knowlton, hired to paint Reagan as "competent."
The Berlin Wall fell due to the Cherynobl nuclear spill and subsequent economic failures, and so said Gorbachev. So out of it was Reagan that he mistook New York Governor Mario Cuomo for Gorbachev and it was also Ronald Reagan who announced that "the biggest cause of pollution was trees."
