We have never heard a Democratic Speaker of the House or Minority Leader in the Senate both say that their top priority was to limit a president to a single term, i.e. that making the president fail was more important to them than the job they were elected to do. We've never seen Democratic senators even filibuster their own bills to deny the president a 'victory'.
