Nothing, it's just a hard business to break into. Very limited opportunities. I'm a computer programmer. One of the first places I worked at back in 1988, they had a guy there who was a decent programmer but he would make fundamental mistakes sometimes. So I asked him where he went to school - turns out his degree was in Archeology. But when he graduated he struggled for 3 years trying to find grant money for his research. So he gave up and became a computer program. He took one night class and wham - got a job. In 2017, in IT, we are still short of legit programmers. But animators? There's millions of people that want to do that and few openings.

Nothing is WRONG for it. However the job opportunities in those fields are very small, it's a niche market.
Restricted job opportunities, shattered dreams.
But there are positives too.
