Very calmly and without getting emotional, you need to communicate the reality of your suffering to him. Empathy is lacking because he doesn't feel your pain. I'm not saying you should make him suffer but rather make him understand how you are suffering.

You cannot do this if one or either of you is emotional. It must be done calmly and rationally. You might want to try a letter if you can't get through a conversation about it without tempers flaring.

To show him how you're suffering, you'd use descriptive language. You'd talk about how it makes you feel and how much it affects you during the day. You'd appeal to his humanity and try to understand why he doesn't want it on (perhaps he'll be freezing and unable to sleep) and you try to find solutions together. You're in it together, after all; and the best interests of each of you should be correlated.

You might want to even use that argument; explain that both your interests are indelibly linked.

Not much you can do except talk to him or go sleep over someone's house.

Tell him to turn it on because you can get sick.

Tell him he's an asshole, then leave and go to a friend's house or sleep in the car with the AC on or something.
