How about talking with a vocational rehab counselor at the county vocational rehabilitation center. Having dyslexia just means that you (I have it myself ;) have differing abilities. For general career information: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search whatever careers that piques one's interest.
Regarding one's career path, Farrah Gray, young male author and multimillionaire who wrote "Reallionaire" suggests asking oneself this question, "What would I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?"
You may already be aware, but if a student has a learning or emotional disability, he or she would be able to get "reasonable accommodations" in the classroom (and at work albeit there is quite a bit of prejedice out there) according to the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. Classroom accommodations may include getting a longer time for examinations and a separate room for tests.
