Use the equation:
y-y1=m(x-x1) Note that both 1's should be subscript
y-8=2(x-(-2)) Substitute
y-8=2(x+2) Change double negative to positive
y-8=2x+4 Distribute the 2 to both terms
y-2x=12 Subtract 2x from both sides and add 8 to both sides
Use the slope-intercept form to express it correctly.
y=mx+b Where "m" is the slope, and "b" is the y-intercept.
To find "b" it looks like...........
8=(2)(-2)+b
8=-4+b
12=b
The standard form would therefore be............
y=2x+12
