Israel's line of kings were all of the tribe of Judah. David was of Judah, and Jesus too was a descendant of Judah. Judah was the kingly tribe. see Matthew 1:1,3,6

A scepter and a commander's staff is a sign of kingship and authority. Ultimately, this was given to Jesus Christ (Psalm 2:6-9; Daniel 7:13, 14)

Genesis 49:8 To you, Judah, will your brothers give praise: your hand will be on the neck of your haters; your father’s sons will go down to the earth before you. 9 Judah is a young lion; like a lion full of meat you have become great, my son; now he takes his rest like a lion stretched out and like an old lion; by whom will his sleep be broken?

10 The rod of authority will not be taken from Judah, and he will not be without a law-giver, till he comes who has the right to it, and the peoples will put themselves under his rule.(BBE)

The rod of authority that Judah had was the rulership over the people of Israel with the kingship of David and his ancestors. The part where it says that "he will not be without a lawgiver (or ruler, someone sitting on David's throne)..til he comes who has a right to it" plainly shows that David has an ancestor ruling Israel continuously until Messiah Yeshua returns to take that crown, or rulership, as His rightful inheritance.

This is not an absurd answer, this is an astute observation. Why do you believe that crap?

The bible wasn't even written down for generations and since its been translated, which always gets messed up, revised at the writers whim, sections taken out, parts reinvented, etc.
