...$1.2 billion? Due to Republican adolescence on the issue we had to do that much extra borrowing AND got a lower credit rating out of the deal.
Combine that with 31 votes to repeal ObamaCare and umpteen votes on ending abortion, both of which they knew would go nowhere, and I wonder how much of our money Republicans have wasted over the past couple of years. Not fiscally responsible, is it?

I have no doubt that they have developed a rationale for the one billion, something that allows them to sleep at night.
But this waste can come to an end in November by voting them out of office.
People should not forget in November that the GOP spent more time trying to repeal abortion and the Affordable Care Act than finding jobs for the unemployed.
thir republican base thinks they are fighting obama. and he is the reason for the added cost. if he were to just give in on what the republicans want it would not cost us anything. they think the1r lawmakers are looking out for the little guys best interest like want a tax cut for everyone . they dont understand the little guy gets 5 bucks and the rich guy gets millions of tax cuts.eventually if we starve the government we will have a smaller government . something like the third worldhas. europe has higher taxs and a big government, better health care and a higher standard of living then we do . hows that, with them paying higher taxs.

Its an enigma. Is it fiscally irresponsible to take an action which thrusts the nation further into debt in order to prove a point about fiscal responsibility? Is it fiscally irresponsible to ignore the causes of the recession and perscribe them as cures now?

They need to do something to make themselves look busy while doing everything they can to keep Obama from getting any credit for fixing the economy, even if it means making sure the economy doesn't get fixed.
