I got my wedding band on Amazon, its 10 karat gold and 2 mm. I got my husband's band at JC Penney because he has large hands and the rings on Amazon wouldn't fit him. He has a 4 mm 14 karat gold band. We didn't have a huge budget either. My band cost $70 and his was about $200. (I had to custom order his). $270 total
Now is the time of year that many jewelers and retailers will have lots of sales on jewelry.
A $50 ring wont make you any less married than a $10,000 ring and rings aren't even required to be married. If you want, you can always upgrade to better at a later date.

If you don't have a big budget try places like WalMart, Target, JC Penney, Kohl's, etc they all have wedding bands that will work fine.
Also, try http://overstock.com,/ they have a good selection of jewelry.
