I'm supposed to write a childrens story for my Japanese class and I was wondering how to say this:
"Penguin jumped off the mountain"
"jump off" is 飛び降りる as another says.
>"Penguin jumped off the mountain"
ペンギンが山から飛び降りた。
I think it might be tobi-ori, which is used for bungee jumping (off a bridge, or a tall building). To tell the truth, Penguin must have jumped off a cliff.

The word you used I found in a sentence that describes lemmings jumping INTO the sea. ãéå£ã§æµ·ã«é£ã³è¾¼ãã (wikipedia on lemmings).
