I have a microwave over my stove, which provides the “ventilation” as well as the lighting for the stove. While trying to unscrew a burned out bulb it broke and of course the light got turned on before I could get the metal part of the bulb out of the socket. This flipped the breaker. I get the metal part out, replace the light, and turn on the breaker and now the light wont turn off. I push the button on the microwave and the display goes through (bright, nightlight, and off) but the light stays bright. Any ideas?

It sounds like there was a power surge, because the breaker tripped. This surge probably damaged the switch, which will have to be replaced.
I hate to say it, but its more than you can do yourself, call a service company and explain the problem and have it fixed professionally, A big part of doing home maintenance is knowing what you can do and knowing what you can't do and who to call when you need help
Good luck
you toasted the switch
