I'm Wiccan, and polytheistic. I believe in Gods and Goddesses... I believe in them because I experience them in my life. It'd be hard not to believe.
I think what helped me to know my Gods better is reevaluating my concept of what a higher power is... I started struggling with the dogma that was always instilled in me from childhood and I began considering the divine in different ways. I realized I wasn't struggling with belief in a deity, just the ideas about who/what that deity was that didn't make sense to me. Looking and reaching out in new ways just opened a whole new bigger universe to me that ultimately made more sense.
I don't think belief in a God can be force, though... I believe there are some people who just do not need the Gods, and therefore the Gods do not bother presenting themselves. And that's okay, there is nothing wrong with that path, just like some people don't want to have children and such. I think we all have to follow what we believe. In my religion there is no punishment for non-belief.
I believe in god because I have read many credible accounts of people's past-life regressions, near-death experiences, channeled messages, mediums, etc. Such as this:
In 1980, a woman, Catherine, was being hypnotized by psychiatrist Dr Brian Weiss as a solution to her uncontrollable anxiety and nightmares. Unexpectedly, while under hypnosis, Catherine began to narrate events from a previous lifetime and convey messages from the "in between lives" state. These are some of the messages she relayed while under hypnosis:
“There are different levels of learning, and we must LEARN some of them in the flesh. We must feel the pain. When you're in physical state in the flesh, you can feel pain; you can hurt. In spirit form you do not feel pain; there is only happiness, a sense of well-being.”
"We all must LEARN certain attitudes while we're in physical state. CHARITY, HOPE, FAITH, LOVE - we must all know these things and know them well."
"Our task is to LEARN, to become god-like through knowledge. We know so little. By knowledge we approach God, and then we can rest. Then we come back to teach and help others."

I believe in God, and that he created everything, and I believe because I cannot reconcile the contention that everything happened by chance. The planets, the tides, the cycle of life, photosynthesis, the repoduction system etc etc is to me, far too complicated to have happened by itself.
I believe in God because He is my heavenly Father and the Creator; He's the Source of all things (except for sin, of course).
Jesus Christ’s resurrection secured, sealed, and consummated His redemptive work. Through His work we have forgiveness of sins, an eternal inheritance and the indwelling Holy Spirit [Ephesians 1.7]; [Colossians 1.14]; [Romans 8.16-18] & [Ephesians 1.13-14].
What I just mentioned is absolutely true!
Our spiritual eyes and ears have been opened... We see in the spirit, we hear the voice of God, we receive revelation from the Holy Spirit, etc. -- Answered prayer is perhaps the greatest faith-building experience possible. How great to pray to Almighty God, and to have Him answer. This is God's plan, and it can happen to every child of God; an 'active faith,' is fueled by God's Word.
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" [John 15:7].
"Living Faith," trusts God to forgive us and make us effective. Our allegiance is based on the very Essence of God. We know that God, cannot promise, or denounce a thing without fulfilling it to the very uttermost:
[2 Timothy 2:13] if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.
There is no doubt about His existence and His love for us, in us and through us.
Now why would I (or any other Christian) choose to lie about this? Why would I (or any other Christian) choose to plunge back into bondage without any hope, or meaning to life--just because the 'world' so desires?
As a former theist, i believed there was a God because it was what i was raised to believe. It was also due to fear of the unknowns. I realize that people want answers but some questions are impossible to answer. People are so desperate to know the answers that they resort to making stuff up and scaring others into believing it. That is how religion formed.
i was just never convinced a god existed. when i was a kid my mum wanted to get me baptized but i didnt want to do it so i threw a tantrum. and i havent had anything to do with religion ever since.
Hello, my friend. I am Wiccan, and Wiccans believe in The God and Goddess. When I was little, I always believed that a higher power watches over us. To me, it seemed strange that only 1 deity that's male is the higher power. The Lord and Lady are what makes sense to me. I used to be Christian, but it seemed to me that God never answered my prayers. I began to lose hope in him and decided that Christianity wasn't my religion. After all, the religion is filled with things that don't make sense at all, That's why I decided to dedicate my life to the Wiccan path. When I turned to the Lord and Lady, I could feel their energy and I sensed change in my life. I am eternally grateful for them! Just live your life to the fullest and harm none, and live in peace and harmony. Blessed be!

I have experienced God for myself. Of course, many have. Only 2% of the entire world is atheist. Which means believers outnumber atheist 50:1.

I would be curious as well.

I'm cool with believers who believe in my right not to believe.
