Solve for x:
(x-3) + (x – 7) = ( 3x + 2) –(x + 4) - 1
..4..........5.............10..........4
The periods are just so the numbers line up properly underneath. They don't mean anything to the question.

You need to be clearer. Do you mean (x-3)/4 + (x-7)/5 = etc?
3x - 12 - 5x - 7 + 6 = [ 2 - x - 5 + 3x + 12 ] - 4x + 1 - 2x - 13 = [ 9 + 2 x ] - 4x + 1 - 2x - 13 = 10 - 2x Error in question ?
I got a positive 3629.75
and a negative -3629.75
what are those extra numbers with the periods?
