Most immigrants go the United States, the UK, or Canada because they are first world countries which accept lots of immigrants. They speak English in India and Pakistan. I doubt most immigrants would choose these nations over any modern western democracy.

The United States has millions upon millions of illegal immigrants who don't speak English and who still want to enter the US so badly they are willing to break any number of laws.

You move to modern western nations because they have good health care, education systems, shorter work weeks, less unemployment, more opportunities, people live longer, less pollution, clean water, lots of disposable income, freedom to vote, etc., etc.

And you don't think there are people millions of people in China, learning English, French, and other languages just for the hope of immigrating to the United States, Canada, or Britain? You think top doctors, engineers, nurses, etc. in China aren't thinking H1B visa when they apply for English lessons? We aren't talking about international business people or those working in tourism. You think your average doctor, nurse, home support worker, etc. in China is taking English because she wasn't to be able to better serve her English speaking patients?

English happens to be the language with the most technical terms recognized around the world.If your paying attention all languages with the exception of some in Russian are interspersed with English technical terms or words.

What is very rude is to move into another culture/society and demand that those in that society cater to them by learning their language when they refuse to use the language of the land.The root of the problem as you say is outsiders who refuse to adjust and bring their problems with them,the same problems they supposedly left their own country to get away from.
