İs it fair to have a house cat and is it ok to put it in catery when going on hoiliday twice a year. And is she happy with this (the cat)? And how long do they live ?
An indoor cat can easily live to be 15 years old if not more, so long as it doesn't aquire any serious diseases or infections. I think that it would be fine to board your cat when you go on vacation, or, alternatively, you could also have someone housesit for you so that the cat can remain in his/her own environment. The cat would probably be happier in their own house, but I think there is nothing wrong with boarding your pet if thats your only other alternative. How long do you go away for? If it's just a couple of days, if you put out an extra litter box and a large bowl of water and food you should be fine.
Yes it is fair to have house cats. I have had indoor only cats for over 60 years (no they don't live that long) and they have lived in a range of 13 to 20 years. Currently I have two ages 18 and 16 years old.
As for the "cattery" that is strictly up to your cat if she likes it or not. I would be sure to thoroughly check out the establishment before booking her into it. Personally my family and I have not used a cattery since we have had family members and friends come in to feed and clean the potty boxes while we're on holiday. I have seen special programs on Kitty Hotels etc. and some of them well, lets just say I wouldn't mind checking into some of them myself. However they do come with a hefty price tag.
As for their longevity cats today can live to quite an old age (for a cat that is). Indoor cat tend to live longer that outdoor cats since they are not subject to other animals, in close contact with infected with disease animals and of course traffic. Indoor cats average is around 13 years but as I stated before the two whom I share a house with are 18 and 16 years. I hope this has been of some help to you
Is it fair to have a house cat? As opposed to a cat that goes outside? I hope that's fair because I have 8 house cats that never go outside and they are very happy.
Cats that live indoors are safer from parasites, injury, car accidents. dog attacks, cat fights and many other dangers.
If you are planning a vacation, you may consider either using a pet sitter to come visit the cat once or twice a day or putting the cat in a kennel or cattery. In my opinion, they are much happier being in their own home.
cats like familiarity...i think that is fine but it would be even better if you could have a family member check up on. i have two cats and everytime we go on a long vacation we actually have my uncle stay at our house. hope this helps:)
As different answerers reported, i could purely save the cat interior the domicile. I did the comparable element for years. while the owner got here visiting I cleared out each thing"cat suitable" & placed the cat out in my automobile for the jiffy he became there. I in no way have been given caught. stable success!

I didn't understand your question, but cats can live between 10 and 15 years if they'll be cared, fed every single day...
