Today I got one of the albums I ordered, "American Apathy" by Dope. The CD is not in great condition. It plays without skipping but for the money I paid I wish it was in nicer condition. My Scars on Broadway CD was the same way.
I don't know the exact number of scratches on it but it's a lot more than it should have.
BQ: Last album you bought?
Update:@Shari USA: I wish I had the money to do that :/

I never had a problem where I bought a cd and it had scratches. One thing I do hate, is when I buy a cd and the center of the jewel case is broken and the tiny pieces of platic are all over the palce.

I have a Copeland one I bought used last year that has about 5 small scratches. Can't really complain though because it uploaded to the home computer just fine and it's out of print.
BQ: Ordered 3 online about 3 weeks ago and I don't think any of them have scratches.
Copeland - In Motion
Showbread - Age of Reptiles
Mae - The Everglow
None that I've purchased, but I've scratched a few of those I have.
I've had pretty good luck with a scratch remover like this one.

I've used a battery operated version to repair expensive software disks, many times.
I don't remember the last music CD I bought. I think it was a Christmas Music CD sung by the Muslim Brotherhood Choir.
I bought Room on Fire by The Strokes from a local used shop when I was a kid, and it had so many scratches that my favourite song didn't play :(
Still worth it, because those songs that DID play introduced me to a fantastic band.
BQ: In person, AM by Arctic Monkeys. Online, The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers. They came into my possession at around the same time though.
A new cd shouldn't have any scratches at all.
Last CD I bought was One Of Us Is The Killer by Dillinger Escape Plan.
Most I've seen was 2 or 3.
BQ: Rewind The Film - Manic Street Preachers.
