She flashes dreadful in refulgent arms.
See mother earth her offspring's fate bemoan,
And nations gaze at scenes before unknown!
See the bright beams of heaven's revolving light
Involved in sorrows and veil of night!”

I suppose poems about murder, suicide, pedophilia and self- mutilation are not so threatening as a funny poem about a rooster. Your stanza beginning with "But, Valkyrie Gull..." is beautiful. Like my Bay Gull, she has soared through the world of poetry, bringing only joy, laughter and sometimes awe. You have brightened many dark mornings for me. This is my official answer to a legitimate question, expressing my opinion of the above poem and should in no way be misconstrued as chatting.
