hmmm...maybe its talking about something like a gory accident, for example, when someone gets shot in war, and another person sees it...that person sort of lost their innocence or part of it since they've witnessed life's harsh realities.

Im guessing that the person who caused the trauma has lossed their innocence because, well, they traumatized the person by doing something wrong/bad! Thats what I get from the quote anyways...
