I've got £550 to spend on this only. I don't know whether to buy a ps4 or gaming pc. ive never had a gaming pc before but i don't think £550 would be enough to run games well. Ive always been a console gamer, i quit a year ago due to anger issues. now iam really desperate to play all these new games coming out. I've always wanted to do pc gaming more than console, but is £550 enough? the games i would like to play on pc are things such as, Battlefield 4, call of duty ghosts and MMO RPG games like rift. The laptop i was thinking about getting is,

Go with the PS4
you wont get a decent or better gaming machine for £550.
that laptop is pretty decent, the CPU is a little underpowered with can be an issue,
not too familiar with the AMD Radeon HD 7640G, but for newer games it will struggle over medium ingame settings.
laptops are not the best for a budget system and gaming.
If I were you, I'd build a PC. Laptops generally aren't very good for gaming. You could build a decent AMD based system for £550. You could grab maybe an FX-8320 for around £115. Get a relatively cheap motherboard, say an MSI 970A-G43 for about £50. Add something like a HD 7970 Ghz for £200 (there's no point in throwing the extra money at an r9 280x, they're the same card!) Spend about £50 on a case, around £70-80 on an 80+ certified PSU (probably only need about a 650W), £50 on 8GB of RAM from a good manufacturer like Corsair and £50 on a HDD and you'll be sorted. I know that would add up to a bit more than your budget, but I'm sure you could find some deals if you look hard enough. Also, SSD's aren't essential, but I would recommend getting one at some point.
Hope this helps :)
The PC you have will absolutely beat the PS4. The PS4 graphics will be like a good 2011 PC, whereas your PC will play games on full settings for a few years.
Your RAM is 2400MHz, while the PS3 will most likely be 1333MHz, making your RAM perform tasks much faster. Your SSD will work at light speed, compared to the PS4's HDD. Despite the PS4 having the 8 Core Processor, any more than 4 cores are wasted on gaming, and the i7 is far more efficient anyways.
If I can make a suggestion, though; Downgrade to 1800MHz RAM, which will save you a small fortune, without giving up too much speed, and upgrade the 770 to a 780.

you might want to consider changing The FM2 platform to AM3+, but it's a very good place to start.
