Property taxes are not assessed nor paid according to how many children you have in public schools.  They are assessed on "owned houses".  Factors taken into consideration are the size of the property, front property footage, garage or no garage - varies per municipality.  If you own a house, you pay property taxes, and those taxes pay for the roads leading to your house, and similar infastructure.  If you didn't have a road, you would have an awfully bumpy drive home and you wouldn't be allowed to drive to your home because it would not yet be a public road.  Get educated!
