Apparently, select stores in Canada and Italy decided to throw caution to the wind and released Pokémon X and Y two weeks early to the general public. Is this bad? How negatively will Nintendo react to this? Can they recall copies? Will this harm future worldwide releases? I need to know, I am too hyped for this game!

That's messed up.
I'm not upset that others will be ahead of me by more than a week, but the Word Wide release date was meant to be October 12th. It's only right for everyone to wait since the date was set for the entire planet, not a few select stores.
I'm surprised any store even has them yet. If anything, this will effect when the games are shipped before release.
There could be fines, but not likely. There should be, but I'm not holding my breath. It's hard to say if there will be an effect from this toward future world wide releases, but I imagine there will be some thought over this incident. I doubt there was any permission to do this.
I ordered mine from Amazon. It could of been a Canadian store. Maybe I should go check by mail...
I think yes. If Nintendo or GameFreak finds out, the retailers would pay a fine for selling the game 10 days before the actual release.
Well, if i were you i wouldn't expect to see any future nintendo releases in those stores anymore
yeah, Nintendo will not be happy about that, and thanks to those twats, they will be more hesitant in the future (probably).
