Out of curiosity….?
….are public high school subcultures/cliques really the problem that many people make them out to be? I’ve been going to a private Catholic school for 9 years now (I’m currently in 8th grade; I’ve gone to the school since kindergarten) and am starting a public high school next year that- despite being one of the most prestigious in the state- supposedly has a huge problem with cliques. Also, what are some of the major groups that exist in most places. (My current school has no cliques, so I really have no experience with them. In fact, the only real problem it has involves kids smoking and drinking occasionally…..)

most of the time it is seprerated in to races ok so most of the time you have the black people, then the white people, then the mexicans and then the indiand and other intermingle with the other head groups. then in the white group most of the time you have preps, nerds, and normals kids, in the black groups i am not quite sure but you have the gangsters and stuff and some kids who are smart and hang out with the white kids. and i dont know about hispanics but of course all this depends on where your school is, like on how many black, white and other types of people you have in you school. but cliques are not bad because those are the people that you consider your friends and you decide your own yes there are cliques that drink and do drugs which i dont think is bad you choose wht you want to do with your life and thats your life so choose you want to hang out with. now there is going to be a big difference in public school and well private such as i am guessing yall didnt cuss alot well we cuss alot but i dont in front of teachers and different consequences. so hoepfully this helps and well goodluck freshman year might be hard they might pick on you but in the end you will have memories an get frined for the rest of your high school courer.
