Polar bears definitely don't thrive in warmer climates. Many creatures are being threatened with extinction due to the loss of their natural habitats, i.e., ice. Remember, icebergs are floating because they contain water and air. When they melt, all the part that was above sea level becomes more sea. You can find pictures online that show the changes in the polar ice cap over the last twenty years. US coastal cities such as Miami, Norfolk, New York, Boston and Charleston are all experiencing tidal flooding they have never seen before, and it continues to worsen. Even if you believe climate change is a hoax, where's the harm in pursuing alternate forms of energy? Wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric power would create millions of new jobs and continue to grow our economy. We can lead the world in these new technologies, as we did in the industrial revolution. Freeing ourselves from reliance on Middle Eastern oil isn't just an economic imperative, it is a national security imperative. If you believe wind farms are somehow dangerous, build them offshore. Lower energy costs are something we should all be able to agree on. You don't have to believe in "global warming." Horse and buggy cabbies thought automobiles were stupid. Fossil fuel companies and their lobbyists need to stop blocking these technologies and the open market will take it from there. I guarantee once alternate fuel companies start to take off, those same fossil fuel companies will see the writing on the wall and be the first in line to invest in them.
Firstly Global warming is largely a natural event. Apparently the sea levels have been rising at about 1 metre every 100 years for the last few thousand years and is not all man's fault. It is due the Earth's tilt constantly changing in relation to the sun over many thousand years. The last ice age ended 10,000 years ago and the temperature of world has warmed up ever since. Apparently the temperature in the first 40 years after the end of the ice age shot up in countries like England being permanently frozen to near todays temperatures and they worry about global warming today.
There will be good and bad come from global warming. Countries like Russia could become much more able to produce huge wheat harvests with another month or 2 of non frozen periods a year. Some countries may actually gain with warmer temperatures but other will dry out to deserts where they can no longer farm. Many countries will lose huge areas of agricultural land causing massive food shortages in most areas. Food being in short supply will become very expensive and even unaffordable for many. Countries like Holland and many pacific islands will disappear under the waves. There are already inhabited islands in the pacific which at high tide and virtually under water and houses are now built on stilts to stay dry during high tide, The Netherlands will no longer exist as they will not be able to build dykes that are high enough to keep back the sea. Bangladesh will disappear as they are flooded lowland from the monsoons every year. Most North American coastal cities will disappear into the sea just like many coastal cities around the world. Much of the best agricultural land will stupidly be built on as most city people seem oblivious where their food comes from and consider where their homes should be more important than where their food comes from. Many city people believe city factories make their food as they have become so disassociated with what farmers do outside the cities they have become incredibly ignorant on the need for the best land to be left for agriculture.
As far as nature goes all this will be disastrous for nature. Already the great coral reefs of the world are dying off as the waters have become too warm. Coral is of huge importance to many varieties of fish and losing the corals could see massive declines in some types of fish. As land floods as seas rise more forests will be cut down for human food production pushing many animals to extinction. With less land fishing will be pushed to the point many fish varieties man likes will die out. Around Japan they have had massive Jellyfish plagues as the Japanese have fished too many of the native fish who feed on Jellyfish have been fished out.
You underestimate that sea levels pushing countries to the brink could start wars as desperate countries fight for new land. Likely all this will not overly affect you but could affect your children badly. Likely for many over the next 50 years will see the decline of their living standards as global warming will likely start to cause difficulties for people to buy food.
In some species of reptiles and fish, temperature determines whether offspring are male or female. So, I can't see how a species that reproduces sexually can thrive biologically if all its members are of the same sex.
If you like warmer temperatures, move to a warmer climate.
The hottest places on Earth are deserts, not lush farmland. Crops grow at temperatures that are just right, not in extreme heat. And, there are several billion people who don't have air conditioning. Everyone who lives with cold winters has access to heated shelters.
If warming is so bad it does make you ask why is it that some of the most populous countries are on or near the Equator while the Poles are almost completely people free?
The Sun modulates the Earth's climate and currently it is transitioning into an inactive cycle which is going to cool the Earth for the next 30 or so years. You haven't followed the updated science on the subject.
Weather records are insufficient to prove any trend at all. The 'green' movement has convinced well meaning folk that we are all doomed. As you say a few degrees higher is fine. At least it's not prophesied to get colder!

Life thrives in warm temperatures?
In some species of reptiles and fish, temperature determines whether offspring are male or female. So, I can't see how a species that reproduces sexually can thrive biologically if all its members are of the same sex.
If sea levels rise significantly, we'd have to adapt. Warming wouldn't require much adaptation.
If the world did not get warmer, Much of North America would still be under about a mile of ice and there would be no Great Lakes.
If you like warmer temperatures, move to a warmer climate.

Who says cities will be under water?
Sea levels will not rise all that much and most cities are over 11 feet about "sea level" anyway.
Except new Orleans and well, they get what they deserve.
