The best advice that I can give is to....move all of your files (music, photos, documents) to large flash drive or portable drive and re-boot your system.
I have Vista on my laptop and I am constantly getting an error message when I start my computer and while I am on it. I see that the only way to get this junk off of here is to re-boot.

you could have a trojan the best antivirus that is compatible with vista is avast you can get it at avast.com and download the free home edition

Is the dadhboard module that is not working in some way connected to your verizon protection?
If so, I would suggest you reinstall it...
Clearly some plugin / module that you are using is "not working" and you will need to figure out which "module" that is so that you can fix it.
Once you figure out which program that module is connected with you can go to their website to find technical support.
