My friend bought me a plane ticket to go with me to celebrate a New Year’s eve abroad with him. How do I tell my parents?
Basically, today is my 20th birthday and my friend decided to buy me a plane ticket to Paris as a gift, so I can go to Paris with him and his cousin (we’re all 20 and I know both of them for couple of years). The problem is: how do I tell my parents that I’m going abroad to celebrate New Years’s eve? I’m from Serbia, so it’s not like I’m going to the other side of the world, but I have worrying parents. I know I’m legally an adult and that I can travel without their permission, but I want to have their approval. What am I supposted to do?

You'll never get their blessing until you tell them. The longer you wait to do it the worse the potential reaction could be. However, they may just be general worries...or they may understand that no "friend" buys another "friend" an expensive holiday unless he expects to get something in return for it. So beware.
have you heard of guilt trip (google it), focus on Paris.
you don't need their approval. You tell them that you are going on a trip on such and such. They can like it or not like it--you're a grown woman. You go and enjoy this wonderful present your friend got you!

Your an adult and not a teenager, so just tell your parents you were invited on a trip and give them all the details.
