Is this legal, I have asked my employer to give me more hours. Other people who are also part time, get 5-6 shifts a week, every week, and I haven’t gotten a shift in 2 months. I have called 3 of my mangers to ask for more shift cause I haven’t gotten any and they have all pretty much said “yeah alright”. Is this legal? What can I do?

They are not obligated to give you any hours. If they don't have the hours to give, then they can't give you what they don't have. If they prefer putting others to work instead of you, that's unfortunate for you and, you can't force them to give you hours. When their business picks up, they will probably give you hours or more hours but, who knows when that will be so, go find another job.
Of course it's legal. I don't know why they don't just tell you flat out you don't work there anymore. It should be obvious to you. There's nothing to stop you from finding other work.
It's disturbing that so many people think there should be a law for everything, when anything happens that they don't like, they immediately jump to 'is it legal?'
You are PT, have asked for more hours and during these 2 months not put on the shift, or guessing (if) an employee calls in sick, they (don't) call you to cover it? Am I right?
The writing is on the wall, they want you to quit. They probably have no valid reason to fire you, so instead by not scheduling you, at some point, you should just give up and find another job.
2 months, unknown about Canada laws, but guessing there is (no) contract or union, thus they are (not) required to schedule you any hours.
Can you file for partial unemployment? if not and if you want to work, then suggest you find another job.
You can go find a new job. They heave no obligation to give you hours.
Do you have a zero hour contract? If so yes it is legal
File for unemployment.
dont sound like it, nnaybe you should get another job if they wont let you work
I know that an employer can give a full time worker one 8 hr shift in a 2 week period and the employee can't file for unemployment. That is what was happening to dozens of people where I worked in Calgary Alberta. Everyone had to quit, they didn't fire anyone.
Sounds like they want to fire you but haven't got around to it or are too chicken to do so.
If you're part-time casual employment in a non-union environment, there's basically fûck all you can do. They don't want to put you on the schedule for whatever reason. They never promised you contractually any hours. And they're giving you zero hours in response. They might call you up if they're desperate, but that's what they think of you. I would move on.
