About three weeks ago I shaved my love spot. I shaved completely dry (no shaving cream or soap) now I have shaving bumps and it itch like a dog with flees. To make matters worse I shaved upwards. Here is my question should I keep that area dry with powder or moist with cream or should I just embarrass myself and see a doctor? (I always shaved but never dry) How long will this take to GO AWAY?

Damn! That sucks. Exfoliate, but it's gonna hurt. Then use Neosporin (with pain relief) and chill out! When you are not working - take the panties off so that there is no friction on the area, and when you go to bed at night, do the same thing. The less touching the better. It will heal.
Good luck!
It is called razor burn dear. Don't ever shave that area dry. If you do not have shaving cream you can use: conditioner, body wash (sauve also states on the bottle it can be used as such), or shampoo.
There is no need to see a Dr. it will go away on its own. Best to keep the skin dry, and wear light breathable undies (cotton), however if the itching is really bothering you that bad, you can use a moisturizing lotion, but I am warning you, then you will be burning.
It can take a few days to a wk. or so to go away.
When using something while shaving such as a shaving cream or another lubricating aparatis you can generally shave in any direction, or atleast I can. But shaving upwards is a no no dry, and be sure next time you do not keep going over any one spot too much. Also I suggest you try using a diff razor. I use a mans gillete 3 blade to shave that area. Experiment to find what works best for you.
Sorry you had to learn the hard way lol. A lot of us did too!
Try some hydrocortizone cream. Keep it dry. No lotions! Be very careful with powder, it has cornstarch in it and can cause a yeast infection. You can still put it over the absent hair patch, just not any lower! :)
Why on Earth would you shave yourself dry??? I get those bumps when I shave with soap or shaving creme. I couldn't imagine dry. I sometimes get those bumps in my armpits from shaving. I asked my ob/gyn. She said it's from shaving too close. I guess tough it out and next time don't shave so close or get it waxed.
Never shave dry again!!! Put some neosporin on it and let it heal a little, then after a few days get some cocoa butter lotion and lather it up a few times a day!
It sounds like you have ingrown hairs. To help, you'll need to exfoliate with a washcloth, or even better with a BHA or AHA, and you can get them at

Also, the Skin Relief Treatment really helps too. I apply the BHA and the Skin Relief Treatment with a cotton ball/pad, and it works for me.
your love spot !!!! ha ha ha I assume you mean you have shaved your pubes ? Try "tend skin" or "ingrow go" avoid delicate bits and you should be right as rain in no time !
put aloe vera lotion on it, and in a few days to a week, you'll feel a difference
Should go away soon. Use cream!
