JOHN 3:16 What is the definition of the word (κόςμον) world (kosmos)?
The Westboro baptist church say on their website the word (world) in the greek language meant not everyone in the world, but can I ask, anyone to find me the true definition of the word, from what the the writer would of definitely meant in his writing, I do believe he meant the whole world, every individual. It would be great to hear from someone who is actual greek and know for sure what John the writer meant,, and you could tell me.

Notice the tie in of the word and world. They are correct but at the same time way off. This is the best translation I can do from Greek to English.
The basic meaning of the Greek word kosmos is "order" or "arrangement". The word is linked with mankind. This is true not only in the Bible but also in secular Greek literature. The world or "kosmos" is described as being guilty of sin (Joh 1:29; Ro 3:19; 5:12, 13). The sinful state, in the Bible, is a human weakness that is not attributed to animals. So John 3: 16 speaks of God loving mankind.
