Since this is your piece, it is up to you. C minor is a very dark sounding key. This key is great if you are writing a requiem where all of the attendees are still crying and wearing dark colors. E minor is also a good requiem key only a bit lighter than C minor in my opinion. D minor is great as well. This key imitates the tears from the violin as if the violin itself is speaking. F minor is good for this too as to me this depicts a lonesome individual who is doomed to die in the depths of the Himalayas with nobody to help him. Experiment with every key and find what sounds best to you. Every key has a different character and its effective use can demonstrate how beautiful this fact is.
I think F Maj (d min) would be your best bet. It only has 1 flat (Bb) as opposed to E Maj (c# min), which has 4 sharps (F#, C#, G# & D#). Also, if you're writing for other instruments (Clarinet, Trumpet, French Horn, etc) you'd have to take them into consideration.

As Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap says, " D minor is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why."
D minor is a easier to read.
