When he was away for a year in the army he use to write me letters everyday every letter finishing with a heart he would draw and our initials printed in the inside. I want to get it copied in his printing on my wrist from one of the letters he wrote me but I am worried it won't look the greatest as he didn't have the greatest drawing abilities on the planet lol anyways should I get his heart on my wrist that he drew or get the artist to do her own one?

its hard to loose a loved one. But sometimes you have to let go and remember you will have a new life and trying to expain a tatoo can be difficult sometimes.....id go with a symbol that both you and your past fiance would both relate too, a heart, shape, or ribbon etc.
I think you should get it the way he drew the heart or else I mean its not the same, he drew it that ways and you want to remember him the way he was not the way the tatoo artist draws the heart, Even if it doesnt look the greatest it means more. After all, risking your life in the amry I dont think anyone would have the time to be the greatest artists :\
Sorry for your loss.
As far as getting an exact copy of HIS writing or having the tattoo artist draw their own rendering --- that's up to you.
I understand the idea behind getting it in his handwritting. I mean, I've heard of people getting things tattooed in their children's handwritting or significant other's handwriting or a loved one or something.
I don't think that it will mean less to you if you have the artist do their own drawing though, you will still be thinking of your fiance when you look at it. I think if you feel like you have a good rapport with your tattoo artist to ask her opinion.
I would say get what he drew unless you really do not find it attractive, bc his writing will be significantly more that someone else's drawn heart. I got some of my father's work on me and just added some words and one with his death date. But I brought in the image of his art and they just traced it.
the job of an artist it to take the clients idea and make the best of it. no respectable artist will copy something exactly, most don't. they will take your idea and sketch it until you think it looks good. they wouldn't copy from that letter. trust me.
Have his on you in the long run it means more.
